Birmingham Painting
Interior, Exterior, Commercial

A number of visitors at this site arrive asking "How Much"?
   - How much to paint the exterior?
   - How much to paint my bedroom?

There is no easy answer because there are a number of variables:
   - One coat or two?
Same color, flat, can usually look acceptable with one coat.
Two coats are required for non-flat or color change.
A drastic color change (e.g., burgandy to white) requires a primer coat.

   - How much prep. work must be done? (Filling holes, scraping, priming)
   - Quality materials or will the cheap stuff do?
   - Do you care whether or not the work has a warranty?
   - Do you care whether or not the company has insurance?
   - Does it matter what the finished product looks like?
   - Does it matter if the painters are on drugs or drunk?
   - Does it matter if the painter never finishes the job?

However, here are a few VERY basic examples:

EXTERIOR:

- Single story ranch, trim only (soffits, windows, doors): $1,200 to $2,500
Add for siding: $500 to $1000
- Two story, trim only (soffits, windows, doors): $2,500 to $3,500
Add for siding: $1,000 to $2,000

INTERIOR:
- Average bedroom, walls only, one coat: $200 to $350
Add for second coat on walls: $150 to $240
Add for ceiling: $75 to $150

Here are a few examples of what customers have told us about their previous "low price" painting experiences:

"We hired him because his price was lowest. We were satisifed with the work. We referred him to a neighbor. a year later, both of our houses were peeling. We couldn't contact him."

"I needed ten new doors painted. I hired him because he had the best price. He ruined all the doors."

"They pressure washed the house in November. It's now February and they haven't been back."

One customer hired a painter with a lower price to paint a foyer. They hired us for the next interior painting. I asked why they didn't use the other painter. The answer:
"I just don't want them back in my house."

"We gave him a 50% deposit. He was here for a day then we never saw him again."

Some of our best customers are people who went for the cheapest price last time.
